Many people leave comments on the blog that we do not publish. Th EPCblog is moderated by myself and I will my not publish comments that are left Anonymous. 

I made this decision, a few years ago, after receiving attacking or rude comments from people. Usually these attacks were made by an anonymous person but even if the person attaches their name to a rude or attacking comment, I will not publish it.

Further to that, I will often not publish comments that concern other divisive issues.

I do not publish comments that are illegal or inappropriate. [The death lobby have often attempted to publish lethal drug ordering information on a EPC blog article.]

Sometimes, but not always, I will publishe excellent comments even though the person was Anonymous.

Whether the comment is positive or negative, I will usually not publish an anonymous comment.

Anonymous comments will not be published on this blog.

There have been many excellent comments posted to this blog that as a moderator I did not publish. My policy is that I do not publish Anonymous comments.

I will also not publish comments that attack others.

I will publish comments from people when they provide their name with their comment.

You must provide your name with your comment.

During the last few days there have been many excellent comments posted to this blog. As the moderator I did not publish those comments because they were Anonymous.

Also: comments that attack a person, have dangerous, illegal, or unethical content will also not be published on this blog.

I will only publish comments from people who give their name with their comment.

I do not publish Anonymous comments.

In the past few weeks I have received several comments to this blog where the commenter did not include a name with the comment. The person left an anonymous comment.

It is frustrating for me to read these anonymous comments. Many of these comments make good points, while others include a legitimate challenge to an article.

A few years ago, I decided that I would not publish comments from people who did not provide their name with their comment and I would not publish comments that attack others. I have now published this blog posting 12 times.

I simply will not publish an anonymous or an attacking comment.

You will notice that this is the tenth time that I have posted a similar comment.

I do not publish comments from Anonymous people (editorial policy).

Yesterday I published an article concerning the recently released Netherlands 2011 euthanasia statistics. There was a huge response to the article with thousands of people viewing the article and several people leaving comments. I could only publish one of the comments because the authors of the other comments remained Anonymous. 

The euthanasia lobby probably thinks that I do not publish their comments, but in fact, almost every comment by members of the euthanasia lobby have been Anonymous. In the same way, yesterday, many positive and supportive comments were made by Anonymous commentators that were not published.

Editorial Policy: I do not publish comments from people who remain Anonymous.

In case you are wondering why your comments haven't been published, I will restate my policy. I do not publish Anonymous comments.

During the past few years there have been comments that were inappropriate and personally attacking that were made by persons using the name - Anonymous.

I am not referring to the group that is named Anonymous either.

Not all of the Anonymous comments are inappropriate or attack individuals, but in order maintain a fair and equitable policy, I do not publish Anonymous comments.

I have my name and contact information connected to my blog. Therefore anyone who wants to have their comments published by me need to at least provide their name. By the way, this has been my policy for more than one year already.

Writing a blog on a contentious issue will naturally get responses from people who agree and disagree with the blog comment. I have never had a problem with disagreements with my comments, but I have been faced with the dilemma of whether or not to print comments from people named Anonymous, who make defamatory statements while opposing my position.
