On December 12, 2025 I reported that Governor JB Pritzger signed assisted suicide Bill SB 9 into law. This was a tragic decision that will result in many deaths and change medical ethics in Illinois by giving doctors the right in law to prescribe poison to their patients.
In the article I stated that it was possible that Governor Pritzker delayed signing the assisted suicide bill because he was scheduled to meet the Pope on November 19.
CNA reported on December 23 that Pope Leo stated that he had urged Governor Pritzger to veto the assisted suicide bill during their meeting. According to the CNA report:
Pope Leo XIV appealed to Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker to veto a bill legalizing assisted suicide during a Vatican meeting last month, the pope told reporters Tuesday.The Illinois assisted suicide law will go into effect on September 12, 2026.
The pope, responding to a question from Rudolf Gehrig of EWTN News, said he made his opposition to the bill clear in the November conversation with the governor.
The original assisted suicide bill was designed to pass in the legislature. Once assisted suicide becomes legal, the assisted suicide lobby will work to expand the law and incremental extensions will follow.

Wow. It just goes to show you just how 'anti-Christ', literally, the whole concept of assisted suicide is - in that, after the "Vicar of Christ" Pope Leo appeals to Pritzker _in person_ not to sign the bill, Pritzker goes ahead and signs it. Shameful.
OF COURSE KILLING IS "ANTI-CHRIST" AND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY ALL RELIGIOUS LEADER DO NOT OPENLY SPEAK OUT AGAINST ALL KILLING INCLUDING EUTHANASIA AND ASSISTED SUICIDE' THE POPE ALONG WITH THE VATICAN, CATHOLIC CHURCH AND ALL OTHER LEADERS OF ALL RELIGIONS NEED TO DO MORE AND SPEAK MORE TO ALL MEDIA AGAINST THE EVIL OF KILLING AND THE EVIL OF EUTHANASIA AND ASSISTED SUICIDE; IT NEEDS TO BE CLEAR AND MORE MEDIA NEEDS TO CAPTURE THEM SPEAKING ABOUT HOW ALL HUMAN LIFE IS VALUABLE REGARDLESS OF RACE, AGE, CONDITIONS, DIAGNOSIS, LIFE-STAGES, DISABILITY, ILLNESS AND SHOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ESPECIALLY TERMINAL-ILL BE ABUSED WITH THE IDEA OF BEING KILLED; AND EVEN PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE KILLED DO NOT KNOW ANY BETTER AND EVERYONE EQUALLY DESERVES PROPER LIFE-PROVIDING CARE AND ASSISTANCE WHETHER THAT IS MEDICATIONS (PAIN CONTROL THAT DOES NOT INJURE OR KILL OR MIX WITH OTHER MEDICATIONS TO CAUSE PROBLEMS), HEALTH CARE, HOUSING, FOOD, MONEY, LOVE; I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WITH ALL THE LAWS BEING PASSED WHY THEY ARE SO SLOW TO AFFIRM LIFE AND THAT GOD IS LOVE AND LOVE IS LIFE-PROVIDING HELP NOT KILLING!!! Also Pope Leo XIV, Responding To A Question From Rudolf Gehrig of EWTN News, Said 'He Made His Opposition To The Bill Clear In The November Conversation With The Governor', Well WHY DOES HE NOT GO TO THE MEDIA AND TALK TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT IT AND STATE HIS BELIEF AND INTENTIONS AND CONVERSATIONS REGARDING THIS SINCE IT IS A PUBLIC ISSUE AND WE SELDOM HEAR OPINIONS FROM RELIGIOUS LEADERS AND GROUPS, AND THAT SHOULD BE BROADCASTED WORLDWIDE AND AVAILABLE FOR EVERYONE EVERYWHERE TO SEE SINCE IT IS A POWERFUL GROUP REPRESENTING MOST OF THE POPULATION AND IS FINALLY STATING THE TRUTH WHEREAS "OTHER GROUPS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SOLD TO THE DEVIL WITH MONEY BRIBERY TO SUPPORT KILLERS AND KILLING IN THEIR NEWLY ADOPTED DEATH CULTS"
Of Course Killing Is "ANTI-CHRIST"; The Pope, The Vatican, The Catholic Church, AND ALL OTHER RELIGIONS AND THEIR LEADERS HAVE A ROLE AND THAT IS TO OPENLY SPEAK OUT AGAINST KILLING AND KILLERS AND THE ENTIRE IDEA OF EUTHANASIA AND ASSISTED SUICIDE AND NEED TO BE DOING MORE TO SPEAK OPENLY AGAINST IT!!!
