With a broken heart, I am sharing that my baby boy Kiano passed away on December 30, 2025, after being euthanized.Four years ago, here in Ontario, we were able to stop his euthanasia and get him some help. He was alive because people stepped in when he was vulnerable and not capable of making a final, irreversible decision.Tragically, the Canadian system later allowed something very different to happen in Vancouver—where a doctor named DR ELLEN WIEBE AKA DR DEATH #2 approved his death based on mental illness. This approval occurred despite euthanasia for mental illness being banned until 2027. Somehow, DR DEATH #2 found a loophole in the system, one that now demands to be exposed so that no other parent has to endure this.This is disgusting on every level. And I promise I will fight this tooth and nail for my son and other parents who too have children that suffer from mental illness.As a mother and after watching and reading countless stories from other families, I can say this experience was not only devastating, but deeply disturbing. The actions of DR ELLEN WIEBE reveal a pattern of coldness and disregard for vulnerable human life that I can no longer stay silent about, just that scary smile shows her entitlement for taking peoples lives…..No compassion.No protection.No effort to save a life, only to end it.This is not healthcare.This is a failure of ethics, accountability, and humanity.No parent should ever have to bury their child because a system—and a doctor—chose death over care, help, or love.In time, I intend to pursue accountability against DR ELLEN WIEBE and to stand alongside other families and associations who have been harmed by these same decisions. I know we are not alone.Right now, we are making arrangements for my son’s funeral this Saturday Jan 10. Details will be shared once finalized.Thank you to everyone who has supported our family, prayed for us, and stood by us through all these years of pain and hope. Please keep our family in your prayers during this unbearable time

I’m so deeply sorry for your loss, and the horrible way that it happened. I hope you get justice for your boy, and may the Lord direct your steps as you pursue that end. Just know, “Dr” Wiebe will face justice, one way or another, in this life or the next. She will not get away with it. May you be comforted as you mourn and trust that vengeance belongs to the Lord.
Absolutely vile behaviour from a doctor! So sorry for your loss!
So very tragic! Dr. Wiebe is a murderer and will some day stand before God in judgement, but until then, you're right to fight and to bring litigation against this wicked women. I'm very sorry for your loss!

How do we help? This is evil. My son has mental illness, one year he is great, others not so much. I would be devastated especially because he has stability in between and doesn't always make the best decisions when he is not stable. My heart breaks for this young man and his family.

This is the evil person who smirked in interviews indicating that MAID was her “ best work “. Tragically this young man fell into her clutches !!

Dr. Wiebe is pure evil. Her cohort (I’ve blocked her name from my memory) euthanized my MIL last August. Met with her Thursday afternoon around 1:30 and she was dead at 10:30 the next morning. She was a bit unwell but was not terminal and the end of her life was not imminent. Soon it will be the number one cause of death in Canada.

My sincere condolences to you and your family! This a very sad and disturbing time for our country! A country that would rather eliminate people than help them get through their illness. We must demand change and justice.
Prosecute to the fullest extent of the law and work on having laws the protect life.
The problem is that all protections in the law were gutted with the legalization of euthanasia and assisted suicide. Margaret states that this should never happen again. In fact this should never happen.

This is murder. A doctor with a heart of stone would not see it as such because the government has created this murky loophole for such a doctor to proceed without consequence to their profession. Truly evil behavior. Government and professionals should and must be held accountable.

I’m so sorry for your loss. The MAID program is becoming the leading cause of death in canada, I believe it’s the 5th cause as of now. Disgusting that this is really any option for individuals with mental health problems especially in today’s society when it’s completely set up to make us all unhappy. That poor mother. She tried so hard to get her son (and of course I empathize with the son’s mental illness). It’s heartbreaking to know that another family has been shattered by that evil witch.
Having lost a son only 5 months ago with undiagnosed heart disease at 41i cannot imagine the extra depth of grief you are going through because of this utterly vile act by a vile system. I know nothing of your family's trials but I do now know grief and words can't begin to say how sorry I am that you are now in this journey. It is hard and I can only pray for Gods grace as you walk through this. No one wants this journey and I'm so sorry you are in it.
