A hospital in Canada is slowly starving and abusing a disabled man to death.
Seriously, can someone airlift Roger Foley out of there?
Hospital staff have, of course, offered Roger Foley “MAiD.” It’s not that “MAiD” made the hospital staff abuse Foley, doctors and nursing staff bully disabled people all the time in jurisdictions where “MAiD” is not legal. However, now healthcare staff have a new, lethal implement of structural oppression at their disposal: they have the power to bully Foley into being offed by a state-sanctioned serial killer. This is an example of the disgusting consequences of a movement run by privileged individuals who are willing to subject disabled people to a new implement of degradation and violence; all so they can plan their deaths like they planned where to go to a first tier college. For instance, in “A Designed Death: Where and When the World Allows it, Avovah Wittenberg Cox asserts:
“For Boomers used to planning and controlling many of life’s choices, from when to have children to what kind of milk in their coffee, defining a good death seems like something they may want to discuss with their families – and decide for themselves.”

Maybe some of the proponents who are not suffering horribly and are just willing to sacrifice disabled people so that they can plan their deaths like they planned where to have their weddings should consent to being locked up in a hospital, deprived of food, water and toileting and subjected to bright lighting that hurts their bodies; while bullies stand over their beds urging them to die by assisted suicide. It might help them put some of their current fears about suffering and their demands for autonomy into perspective.

ReplyDeleteAre we not exchanging one egregious form of death for another? Assisted suicide is an evil act and cannot be used for the so-called mitigating of suicide, and the leveraging of social acceptance to kill someone who is sick and desperate, and needs our help and compassion over killing. There is no excuse for the tragedy of MAiD, not even to alleviate the tragedy of suicide.
The article makes many good points, but I would disagree that "Of course people who have endured that type of trauma would think “MAiD” is a good idea." Many people with a well-formed conscience would still oppose MAiD even after a loved one had committed suicide.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I ought to have said, “of course many people who who have endured that type of trauma would think assisted suicide is a good idea.” Unfortunately I am aware of one proponent whose terminally ill Mom shot herself and then left a suicide note saying that she wished she could have used “MAiD.” (I’m not going to link to the story because I’m not sure if the person would experience me mentioning them by name as an attack). I agree that to grant her her advocacy wish would exchange one type of trauma for another, but I think we can all understand why the proponent might not see it that way; ie, “of course” she feels that way. My blog posts often convey what I feel is legitimate righteous indignation towards some of the proponents who just want to die with champagne in their hand, but I think we can all extend forbearance to people who really have endured terrible trauma. So, that’s what I meant by “of course someone who had endured that type of trauma would think that assisted suicide is a good idea.”
ReplyDeleteI am one who has a loved one commit suicide by gunshot to head. MAiD can be used, but only if there is no other alternative. BUT, certain health care individuals, are offering maid at the drop of a hat. MAiD should not ever be offered. It should be up to the individual to seek it out. MAiD is not an option to health care. The health care industry, by all appearances, is using MAiD instead of providing the services that they were hired for. Once we go down that path, then it will not be long before MAiD will be mandatory if the health care provider sees fit. We need the health care system fixed. It has become an entity that has more non-professional than professional health care providers. it has become a bureaucracy of pencil pushers and bean counters.

ReplyDeleteI wonder if applying for asylum in a foreign country would be a possibility? There are private, medical transport companies that can transport someone to another medical facility abroad. Probably about $10,000 for that. Crowd-sourced fund-raiser? The United States would probably not be a good candidate at this point. Perhaps Japan, or somewhere in Scandinavia. Roger needs to get the heck out of there! They WILL kill him. - Thomas Lester

There ARE places that COULD HELP Roger get the proper nutrition, compassion & care that he & MANY others desperately NEED & DESERVE, in order to be able to continue to LIVE life & to live life with DIGNITY. REAL dignity, not that counterfeit "dying with dignity" PROPAGANDA that's being fed to us.

Do people still NOT realize/understand what is actually happening here? Do people still NOT understand that THIS can & WILL eventually apply to EVERYONE ?
It's the plans of the New World Order/the Great Re-set by those arrogant ELITISTS who are in POWER (that NO ONE ELECTED/VOTED for) & they are coming for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US 'useless eaters' & 'farm animals' (as they so kindly like to refer to us).

Alarmingly, history is repeating itself (by these SAME MONSTERS as before) and STILL the general (beat down, hopeless, exhausted, weak, over medicated & distracted) population (of 'useless eaters' & 'farm animals') are NONE the WISER. Shame on us! How quickly we forget... :( Smh

Reading about what is PURPOSELY being done to Roger (literally starving him to DEATH) & to many others (including my late & dear friend Anita), is absolutely HEARTBREAKING, GUT WRENCHING & an OUTRAGE (to say the least).
What's even MORE OUTRAGEOUS is that EUTHANASIA (i.e. EXCUSE for MASS MURDER/GENOCIDE, without taking ANY accountability whatsoever, by those blood-thirsty, psychopaths committing it), is being ALLOWED (by the public) to take place more & more everyday!
Sadly, at this rate...I have no doubt that people WILL continue to be convinced to allow themselves to be EXECUTED under the GUISE of 'compassion' & 'dignity' (to add insult & mockery to injury), the more POPULAR & NORMALIZED Euthanasia becomes. :/
