Everyone has a right to die with dignity.
ReplyDeleteIt is with dignity I lived my life and with dignity I wish to return.
Only with a written will. or if unable to do so then giving someone the right to speak for me.
No malformed Children nor anyone unable to speak for themselves should have their life taking away.

Is it the state's job to kill people? Will Canadians just hand over their right to life because they're so afraid of suffering and death that the state has to do that for them too? People howl with protest when Stephen Harper lifts a finger, but when the Supreme Court dictates state-sponsored killing, Canadians line up like sheep to the slaughter for their doses of poison - long before they're suffering or even close to it. Is it really suicide that the honorable judges legalized? Who will push the plunger? Wake up people. Murder and suicide can never protect you from suffering. In the spoon-feeding decision that made headlines recently - when Margaret Bentley of B.C. attempted to protect herself from suffering 24 years ago, she certainly never dreamed that what she wrote would be used against her, to attempt to starve and dehydrate her to death. Anyone who naively thinks they can write something that will deliver death to them exactly when they want it, how they want it, on their own terms, needs to keep what happened to Mrs. Bentley in mind. When the state grabs the right to kill people, watch out.
