I agree this is like playing with fire ... Why is it so difficult to point out the obvious to the masses? For example, what is the definition of murder? Does "comfort care" fall under that definition? I know someone who went away for a week while her mother was in hospital and when she got back her mothr was totally dehydrated and begging for water ... asking for water. The nurse came in and told her she was not suppose to have any. A family member acted to install comfort care while the other family member was away and unaware that this was even going on. They gave the mother right away because this person got very upset but the mother was too far gone. What's my point? It's already going on!!! We, as a society, need to be educated on the basic principal of honouring the elderly. If people can' t see the value of the richness of a long life and all the wisdom that comes from that, and we as children once nourished as babies owe it to our parents to take care of them in their weakness, we have missed one of the most beautiful actions of love imaginable. People need to be taught what is love, and how it is expressed. Educate the masses, posters, t.v. billboards encouraging people to love their own families ... once you truly love and feel you are loved a lot of the reasons for euthanasia go out the window. What do you think about this approach, not saying yours is wrong, just another angle?<br />Nicolenoreply@blogger.com
