Before 2002, euthanasia and assisted suicide were not legal but they were approved by the Court - Judge made law. Mr. Miedema is absolutely correct that the safeguards don't work. This is endemic throughout health care, whether they be safeguards for the right to life, to freedom of choice, to quality care, to privacy, or to whatever. Physicians mostly adhere to the law, but when they don't, patients and government alike are powerless to enforce it.
