Australian man sentenced 10 years for assisting the suicide of his wife.

Jennifer Morant
Graham Morant (69), an Australian man who was accused of assisting the suicide of his wife, Jennifer Morant (56) for the $1.4 million insurance money was convicted on October 3, 2018 of the crime and has now been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his crime.

ABC News Australia reported Justice Peter Davis stating:

"You took advantage of her vulnerability as a sick and depressed woman.
You counselled your wife to kill herself because you wanted to get your hands on the $1.4 million.
Your general financial position was such that $1.4 million was a very significant sum, as it would be to most people.
You have not shown any remorse for the offences you have committed.
You did not plead guilty and you did not cooperate with the administration of justice."
The Morant case shows how euthanasia and assisted suicide can hide the crime of murder.

The circumstances related to Morant's health and death are similar to the circumstances related to most assisted suicide deaths.

Disgusting. This man should not have to spend anytime in prison. Who are you to judge him

I'm guessing he gets to keep the insurance money when he gets out...because with that, it's not about ending the suffering.

James, She didn't have any life threatening disease, just anxiety and back pain. Who are you to judge that it is disgusting he should get punishment. Its okay for a husband to equip a car for her to have an accident so he could collect life insurance? You don't know how much he manipulated her. It is being treated as a domestic violence case because of his manipulation. People get over anxiety, depression and back problems all of the time. It is obvious that instead of trying to help her, he helped himself. A car accident can't be a kind and gentle way to die. How horrible! He wanted to use the money for the end times? We will never know the extent of what went on, but God knows.

It is disgusting that he didn't get life in prison for killing his wife!!!! He was trying to use the cover of assisted suicide to get his wife's insurance money and to litterally get away with murder. I hope some doctors get convivcon of murder too because some seem just a little too quick to be willing to kill someone instead of trying to help them live. What about the hypocritic oath (hypocratic - first do no harm?). I am a woman and too many of my sex get murdered and abused.
