MacDonald promises to introduce bill to legalize euthanasia in the Scotland

Margo MacDonald vows to once again attempt to legalize euthanasia and assisted suicide, after winning her seat in the recent Scottish election.

MacDonald, whose bill to legalize euthanasia and assisted suicide, was stunningly defeated in the Scottish parliament on December 1, 2010 by a vote of 85 to 16, has vowed to bring forth a new bill to legalize euthanasia and assisted suicide. Link to article about the stunning defeat of MacDonald's bill

Last year, the MacDonald bill was intentionally written with imprecise language so she could falsely claim that the bill was limited to assisted suicide and had strict safeguards. My assessment of the bill showed how the bill had few, if any restrictions and it legalized euthanasia and assisted suicide.

MacDonald recently stated to the Scotland Herald that:
her assisted suicide Bill, which was rejected last year, could find more support in the new session.

“There might be an entirely different balance in Parliament,” she said. “It’s a personal thing.”

I predict that MacDonald will try to fool the Scottish people by claiming that she is trying to legalize assisted suicide with strong restrictions, but in fact the bill will once again be a wide open euthanasia bill. I also predict that her bill will once again be strongly defeated.

The Care NOT Killing Alliance is sure to work very hard to defeat the new bill.
